Nottingham-based design and fit-out specialist, Paragon Interiors Group Plc (Paragon) has handed over a £1m project in Northampton to data centre solution specialist Node4.
As well as all the internal fit out works, Paragon was instructed to completely reconfigure the building shell. Works included a new, fully glazed curtain wall, new entrance and re-cladding of the two storey building.
Having recently been ranked No. 1 in the Midlands for the prestigious Deloitte Fastest Growing Company and ranked 22nd nationally, Node4’s 41,000ft2 facility is their largest to date, underpinning their rapid growth strategy.
This project represents Paragon’s continuing relationship with Node4, which was initiated on the work undertaken in Derby at their first Data Centre. Some six years on, Paragon was delighted to take a call from Node4’s managing director, Andrew Gilbert, whose confidence in Paragon’s abilities led to a negotiated instruction to undertake the design and construction of Node4’s latest project.
Andrew Gilbert said; “‘Our Northampton Data Centre, offers our customers the very latest in specification and security technology, ensuring that the most mission critical applications are hosted securely and protected. The centre provides the capacity for 720 racks or in other words almost 30,000 servers of Tier 3 co-location space with fully redundant power subsystems, cooling and network connections.
“We have worked with Paragon before and their team understands our business so we were more than confident that they would deliver the project to our and their exacting standards and we have been proved right.”
Alan Hardy, managing director of Paragon said: “Despite our familiarity with Node4 and what the business is trying to achieve, this was still a very challenging project due to the frankly horrendous weather conditions on site throughout the winter. However, the project was delivered as programmed and to the client’s delight, on budget. It has been a great team effort.”
